- quote of the day -

"It is a fucking and crying shame that a woman can't take a picture of her fucking dead son who fucking died for his fucking country so fucking Bush can keep his fucking approval ratings somewhere above fucking "Dismal"." The Blaghdad Cafe

The Dogwood tree is the state tree of Missouri. Posted by Hello

It's Official!

John and I are engaged! He got down on his knees in the weirdest place: the most white trash, hillbilly bar somewhere on the Missouri/Arkansas border. It was too funny! Then we went to a flea market and bought a $2 ring. Then we went to a jewelry store and picked out the perfect ring. We have decided that we are going to get married on the beach in Hawaii in 3 weeks. I can't wait!

Update: We got married at Kaka'ako Oceanfront Park on May 18th in Honolulu, HI. It rained the whole day and I was so worried about how the pictures would come out. Luckily, it cleared up and we got 2 rainbows! It was awesome and I couldn't be happier about how the wedding came together. We got a beautiful sunset on the water after the ceremony. We had a great time!

Good for you!

STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - A Swedish lesbian couple who were thrown out of a Stockholm restaurant in 2003 for kissing won an appeal Monday against an earlier court ruling that cleared the restaurant owner of sexual discrimination.
The Court of Appeals in Stockholm ordered restaurant owner Aziz Cakir to pay 50,000 crowns ($7,100) in damages and to cover the legal costs of Sweden's ombudsman against sexual discrimination, HomO, which filed the appeal. Yahoo! News

- quote of the day -

"Think about the average mental state of the average millenial serf steeped in electronic media. Always, always on the go, with never a quiet time to reflect, persistent low-level anxiety, rapid emotional swings from euphoria to boredom, daily bouts of frustration that threaten to tip into despair. And all the while we have this unshakable conviction that happiness is right around the corner, as soon as the next raise comes or the Hawaiian vacation or the guy delivers the Bowflex. This is dire stuff. Put enough people who feel this way together, get them sharing the intimate details of their disease, and what you have is a recipe for revolution."

Scary...

"The death toll in Angola from an epidemic caused by an Ebola-like virus rose to 174 Friday as aid workers in one northern provincial town reported that terrified people had attacked them and that a number of health workers had fled out of fear of catching the disease." The NY Times
